Ken Tomlinson ADI

Ken Tomlinson is a fully qualified, fully insured, CRB checked Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).

He appears regularly on BBC Radio Shropshire as a contributor on driver training matters and is Telford & Wrekin Council's official 'Wheels to Work' instructor.

Formerly a successful manager in the transport and logistics industry, Ken trained with BSM and ran franchises for both BSM and the AA Driving School before launching Smartdrive as a fully-independent driving school.

A member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and an advanced motorcyclist, Ken's relaxed and friendly approach to driving instruction is deceptively simple - people learn faster if they are comfortable, supported and motivated. There is no shouting in the car - EVER - and that's guaranteed!

Jackie Sim ADI

Jackie Sim, also a fully qualified, fully insured, CRB checked DSA ADI joined Smartdrive in the Summer of 2011 to help the business grow. Some clients feel more comfortable with a female instructor or may have religious or cultural reasons for learning with a female and Smartdrive can now meet that need.

Jackie has been qualified for several years, having trained with The Instructor College and after working as part of a large local driving school on a franchise basis worked independently before joing forces with Smartdrive.

As a Department Manager in a large teaching Hospital in the NHS for many years, Jackie has a wealth of experience of tutoring, motivating and putting people at ease in extremely stressful situations; a real asset in driver training!

Jackie aims to make learning to drive an enjoyable time and whilst thoroughly grounding her clients in the safety aspects of driving, she will also try to share her passion for driving and the freedom that it brings.
